On September 13th, 2024, Doris Carol Smith went to heaven. She was born in Wallace, North Carolina on November 13th, 1938. She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School Class of 1957.

She was married to Harry Smith Sr. for nearly 30 years. She lived in the same house in Arlington for 48 years. She started out working in department stores like Macy's and JC Penny's. Then working at banks and hospitals, before finally ending up retiring at the Department of Health Vital Statistics for the State of Florida.

She loved listening to Elvis Presley, cooking, reading the bible, watching football, and yes ordering from QVC. She was known for being a friend to everyone and being loved by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ella Pleasants and Clifford Whaley, by her husband Harry Smith Sr., and 9 cousins who called her sister. She is survived by her two sons Randy and Tommy, her extended family who she was simply known as grandma to, and her four best friends Sheila, Shirley, Ruby, and Ann.
