Obituary of Doris Stanford

Doris (DeBoard) Nugent-Stanford, born in June of 1941, in Paoli, PA, and passed away December 22, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. She is survived her son James Nugent, daughter-in-law Dawn (Murray) and 2 dear grandsons Blaise and Connor. Doris began working with Deluxe Check Printers in Paoli and transferred to Jax plant when it first opened in 1971 with her son who was then only 4. She went through many positions in her career including department manager. During this entire time she with God's help raised her only son. She retired early at age 49 due to serious health problems which she fought up to the very end. She was a member of the Southpoint Baptist church where she was a faithful member and loved sending cards to those who were sick and shut-in. She also enjoyed singing whenever the occasion would allow. She was very proud of her son & his family and she thanks God for giving him such a gentle, caring heart. Doris was 1 of a family of 10 siblings: Kathy Folk, CPN, her closest sister was the oldest & predeceased her. Cynthia Swick (husband Joe), W. VA, Joy Faith Currie, Jax FL, Jacob DeBoard (wife Dee) Jax FL, Bonnie Nill, Bradenton, FL, Carol Ann Eddings, Jax FL, Reggie DeBoard, Jax FL, Billy DeBoard (wife Debbie), PA and Michael DeBoard, PA. She was born the daughter of Jacob Burl and Dorothy McLaughlin DeBoard in Paoli, PA. She graduated from Conestoga Senior High School and attended a year at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She left there to come home to help. Later she was able to give her older sister Kathy, who was given only a short time to live, a new lease on life by donating a kidney to her. Back in the 1960's kidney transplants were considered government research, so prayers went up and God's eyes & His Almighty Hands worked and we were called the "gold dust" twins, Everything was so perfectly matched. He is the "Great Physician"
