Obituary of Dorothy Moore
Dorothy Talmage Moore, 87, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away October 2,
2009. Born March 3, 1922, Dot was the daughter of Carroll Slater
Talmage and Edith May McCoy of Petersburg, VA. Dot was a loving wife,
attentive and generous mother and devoted grandmother. She was an
active member of St Paul United Methodist Church in Arlington for 41
years and was known throughout the community for her kindness and
support of those in need. She was a talented individual who loved
sewing, square dancing, china painting, working with stained glass,
and other artistic endeavors. She is survived by her beloved husband
of 65 years, James R. (Bob) Moore, her son, Jay Moore (Kathy), her two
daughters, Karen Chaires (Glenn) and Kristin Beasley (Chuck),
grandchildren, Chris Moore, Lauren Rowans (Tim), Kelsey Chaires, and
Alex Chaires, and great-grandson, Christopher Moore. The family will
receive friends Monday, October 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Arlington
Park Funeral Home. Services will be October 6 at 2:00 pm at St Paul
United Methodist Church followed by interment at Arlington Park
Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in
her name be made to St Paul United Methodist Church, 8264 Lone Star
Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
