Douglas Mize Blackman, 63, of Jacksonville, Florida died Thursday October 7, 2021 after more than 21 years of m onumental health obstacles followed by awesome miracles from his savior, Jesus Christ. Douglas lived in Jacksonville, Florida where he was born on December 10, 1957. Douglas is pr ece ded in death by his father Herman Eudell Blackman, Jr. ("Buddy") who passed away in 1967. His is survived by his mother Glenda Rae Phelps (late Jack C. Phelps); his devoted wife of almost 23 years, Teri Blackman; their son, Evan Mize Blackman; his u ncl e Shelton McAllister "Sonny" (Shellee McAllister ); his brother, David Blackman (Sherye Ambrose); Jack C. Phelps, Jr. (Eva ); Jay P. Stephens (Rosemary); Myrtle Floyd (late Robert Floyd); Pam K. Jones (late Ray K. Jones); and Kayla M. Jones, who helped Teri care for him during his extended illness es .

Douglas loved God, Family, and Gator Football. Douglas was a 1975 graduate of Ed White High School. In his younger years Douglas was self-employed as an independent contractor. Later, he enjoyed serving in church and he w as a dedicated volunteer with the DCPS System. His smile, gratitude for God's Miracles, commitment to survival, excellent cooking skills and loving heart , will be missed by multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday October 16, 2021 at Arlington Park Funeral Home (6920 Lone Star Road Jacksonville, FL 32211) The service will be conducted by Pastors Manny Keyser & Joe Newton. Visitation is at 10am and the s ervice begins at 11am.
