Obituary

Douglass Bell, born on August 14, 1950, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away suddenly on April 5, 2024. He was the beloved son of John and Betty Bell. For more than thirty years, Douglass dedicated himself to Coggin Pontiac, where he contributed his talent and skills to the parts and body shop departments.

On April 5, 1997, Douglass married the love of his life, Barbara. Douglass cherished moments with his family, particularly enjoying his grandsons' pursuits on the ball field. An avid sports enthusiast, Douglass reveled in watching games and the timeless charm of "The Andy Griffith Show."

Douglass is preceded in death by his parents and his dear wife, Barbara. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Frankie and Jennifer VanZandt (Nick); and his beloved grandchildren: Bailey Frankie, Nicholas VanZandt, Joey Frankie, and Xander VanZandt. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother Gus Bell (Judy), sister-in law, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Douglass's life will be held on May 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at Southside Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Southside Methodist Church at 3120 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
