Obituary of Dudley Tittle
Dudley Warren Tittle, Jr., 84, has gone home as he passed into Heaven April 15, 2008. He never gave up as he fought through physical ailments and to the point that Gods timing was perfect for him to depart our presence. We have joy and peace in knowing he entered the pearly gates of Heaven because of his trust and faith in God through Jesus Christ.
A loving husband, dad, granddaddy, brother, uncle and friend, Dudley showed friendship to others and demonstrated a life of perseverance and dedication to the tasks at hand. While he will be greatly missed from this present life, we are assured he is now relieved from his frail body, and T model legs as he said, and has now taken on his new body that God has prepared. He is able to soar once again in the heavenly realm that reminds us of his days as a U.S. Army Paratrooper in WWII with the 11th Airborne.
Dudley is once again able to move about with unlimited mobility reminiscent of his more than 3 million miles he traveled with 42 years on the railroad track, retiring with the Florida East Coast Railroad.
Dudley is preceded in death by his loving, faithful wife of 65 years, Audrey Adel (Thornbrough) Tittle, daughter Shirley Vail, sister Louise Dence and brother Herbert Tittle. He is survived by three children: Linda (Howard) Smith, Tommy (Betty) Tittle, Ronnie (Linda) Tittle; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Leon Tittle and numerous nieces and nephews.
