Dwight Lelon Fields, age 83, was born March 6, 1933 in Rockingham, North Carolina and passed away May 20, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center-Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, although thankfully stationed in England. He loved to share the stories of his time there, as a young man who enjoyed going to pubs and getting into the occasional fight. In his early 30's, he met the love of his life and soulmate, Becky Sims, who was back home in North Carolina, from Florida, visiting her family. They quickly fell in love and Dwight would take the train on Friday's after work from NC to FL to be with Becky and her two young children on the weekend. They finally married on April 16, 1965 and were blessed with two more children, both girls. Dwight worked for over 30 years at the Anchor Hocking plant in Jacksonville, in both the hot end' and in management. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a talented man who could build, craft and create just about anything. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed working on projects around the house and in his workshop. He was a member of Fort Caroline United Methodist Church for over 40 years, as well as a longtime member of the choir. He loved and appreciated his church family very much.

Dwight and Becky enjoyed a long, happy, loving life together until Becky's death on May 18, 2010. True love, like our parents have, never dies and we know that they are finally together again.

Dwight was preceded in death by his loving wife Rebecca Jean Sims Fields and their son H. Dale Milford, as well as his parents, Stroman Blease and Nettie Agnus McLean Fields; his sister, Nina Ruth "Sis" Porter (Danny); brothers Bruce Fields (Bea), and Barry Fields (Perrin).

He is survived by daughter Harriet M. Pate, son-in-law Bill, granddaughter Michelle Smith, her husband Ken, grandson Jeremy Pate, his wife Kelly, and great granddaughter Mabel; Daughter-in-law Wanda L. Milford, grandson Jason Milford, his wife Christi, great grandchildren Dallen and Hughes Milford and granddaughter Laura E. Milford; Daughter Jennifer Rine, her husband Steve, grandson Emerson Rine; Daughter Lynda Sherman, her husband Matt, grandson Spencer Ilanlou; Son-in-law Jimmy Ilanlou: his faithful dog, Sam, who he loved very much; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family member and friends who loved him dearly.
