Obituary

Earlene Moody Bussey passed away January 29, 2020. Earlene was born September 12, 1930 in Smithville, GA to Earl and Eloise (Brunson) Mathis. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her siblings, James "Edwin" Mathis, Ann Baldwin and Mary "Gwen" Hinnant.

Earlene graduated from Georgia State College for Women in 1952 and taught elementary school in Duval County. She loved sports and earned her pilot's license in the 60's. She loved to boat and fish, paint, sew, travel and play golf.
Earlene was married to Henry Moody, a fellow school teacher, for 30 years until his death in 2002. She was married to Lewis Bussey from 2003 until his death in 2017.
She is survived by her step-children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her many neices and nephews and their families.

Earlene's family will be holding a Celebration of Life at 2pm on February 22 at the home of Buddy and Kaye Moody - 7788 Spaner Road Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
