Edith Elizabeth Goeckel's Obituary
Edith (Betty) Goeckel, 96, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1920. She graduated from Lincoln High School (Michigan) in 1938 and married the love of her life Robert Goeckel in December, 1939.
She grew up in Michigan where she attended the Frist Congregational Church of Royal Oak and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle. After moving to Ocala, Florida she became a member of the First Congregational United Church of Ocala.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert. She is survived by her three sons, Robert, Jr., Royal Oak, Michigan, Charles (Lela), Greenwood, Indiana and Stanley, Jacksonville, Florida, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Betty's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Betty's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
