Obituary of Edith Kunkle

Edith Johns Geiger Kunkle went to join the angels on September 24, 2012. She is one of nine children, of John and Gracie Johns, Edith was born on September 12, 1923 in Nahunta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Robert M. Kunkle. Edith is survived by her sister, Lolita Johns Watson; husband Junior; her son, James P. Geiger, wife Kathy; daughter Janet Geiger Hartney, husband Curtis; 5 grandsons, Richard and Raymond Hartney; Casey, Christopher and Jay Geiger; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She lived in Jacksonville the majority of her years, working at Patti's Italian Restaurant in the 50's and retiring from the May-Cohen Company. Edith was a pink lady at Baptist Hospital for 12 years; loved to work in her garden; enjoyed quilting and was an outstanding seamstress. In lieu of flowers a gift memorial may be given to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville.
