ACOBA Eduardo Rogelio Albano Acoba, 91, born on October 13, 1926 in the Philippines to Gregorio and Marcela Acoba, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Andres Rudy Acoba, and his wife, Susana Priscilla Saning Jose Acoba. He is survived by his daughter Gina Acoba Bueno (husband Manuel, deceased); son Nilo Acoba (wife Rowena); granddaughters Joy Ortiz (husband Hector), Jill Gobbi (husband Damien), and Jessie Wright (husband Jonny); grandsons Archie and Arleigh Acoba; great grandchildren Jaide, Jayce, Jaxen, and Jaelyn; sisters Hormie Acoba Josue (husband Flor, deceased), Liling Acoba Ramiscal (husband Jaime), and Martina Acoba Agcaoili (husband Santos, deceased); and brothers Rico Acoba (wife Magdalene), Rolly Acoba (wife Josie), and Reny Acoba; and cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Philippines and the United States. Before immigrating to the United States, Eddie worked as the Desk Sergeant with the Police Force and as an office clerk for the First District Court in the Philippines. He was also a kitchen worker during World War II. In 1990, Eddie and Saning, his wife, came to the United States from the Philippines. When arriving in Florida, Eddie began work at The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, working in the kitchen. He worked there for 10+ years and retired from the Club. After his retirement from working, he spent time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His family will remember his hardworking demeanor and strong work ethic. The Acoba and Bueno family will receive friends for a Visitation and Celebration of Life Gathering on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5-7pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home.
