Obituary of Edwin Davis

Edwin Tucker Davis, 87, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on July 14, 2007. He has been a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since 1960 and a member of the choir for 45 years. He was proud to serve in the United States Army from 1941-1945 where he was awarded the Certificate of Merit for outstanding service. He moved to Jacksonville in 1960 with the Atlantic Coast Railroad and retired from CSX in 1982.

Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Eunice Davis, his brother Kenneth N. Davis, Jr., and sister Florence D. Bullard. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret H. Davis; his daughter, Donna L. Davis; his son, Edwin T. Davis, Jr. (Marie), and his granddaughter, Kelly L. Davis. He will always be remembered for the great love he had and showed to everyone that he knew especially his family.

The family will greet friends on Monday, July 16, 2007 from 6-8:00pm in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 8264 Lone Star Road with interment to follow in Arlington Park Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the choir at St. Paul United Methodist Church
