Obituary of E.J. Dover

Dover, Jackson Edgar, 82 of Jacksonville passed away March 14, 2015 at home.

Mr. Dover joined the Duval County Sheriffs office in 1960, serving through the transition into the Jacksonville Police department where he was promoted to Sergeant and retired in 1977. In 1981 Jack was called to preach and founded "Joyful Life" Ministries in 1983. In 1985 Jack was licensed into ministry and was ordained by Harvest Baptist Church in 1986. In 2003 Jack joined the staff of Harvest Baptist Church as an associate Pastor.

Jack was very active in the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Oceanway Masonic Lodge #279 where he was past master. He is a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite Bodies, Noble Morocco Temple of the Shrine and was Ambassador for Morocco Temple.

Jack was predeceased by his daughter Mechille Dover and is survived by his wife Carole, brother Tom Dover(Penny); children, E.J. "Jack" Dover, Jr(Debbie), Debbie Pelle (Doug), Richard Dover, Darlene Flannery, Kenny Dover(Shirl), Step-sons David Farmer, Danny Farmer, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a Visitation Gathering from 5 PM to 7 PM, Friday, March 20, 2015 at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Harvest Baptist Church, 1051 Arlington Road North, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 (904) 724-8223.
