Obituary of Elaine Gillrup

Elaine Q. Gillrup, loving known as "La-La", 75, entered into rest on December 7, 2012. She was born on October 29, 1937 in New York City, NY to the late Joe and Rose Quinn. She is remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and New York Giants fan. She thoroughly enjoyed a long and happy career as a legal secretary with both the Duval County State Attorney's office and the firm of Smith, Hulsey and Busey. Elaine had a strong spiritual belief and great love for the Lord. She treasured being surrounded by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jack Gillrup; sons, Gregory James Ackland, Kevin Michael Ackland, Rory Paul Gillrup, Jeffery (Jill) Dean Gillrup, Addam Stephen Gillrup and Christopher John Ai Gillrup; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; siblings, Josephine, Dorothy, Eamon and Yvonne, numerous nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends and prayer partners. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL from 12:00-1:00pm, with her funeral to follow immediately at 1:00pm with Pastor Mark Winter officiating.
