Obituary

Eliseo Liwag (Leo), 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and servant to our Lord Jesus Christ passed away on March 29, 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida. Leo was born in the Philippines to Crispin and Beatriz Liwag on June 14, 1930. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 25 years and later in the U.S. Civil Service. Leo touched many lives over the years, sharing his Catholic faith through his work with the Saint Francis soup kitchen and as a Eucharistic minister. He was an avid fisherman and gardener who loved to cook for his family and friends. Leo is predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 54 years, Lucy Liwag; daughters, Cindy (Ronnie), Betty, and Michelle (Brian);

7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters Julia, Mela, and Inya, all from the Philippines.

The Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Jacksonville with Rev Fr. Anthony Bonela as Celebrant. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32218.The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, Jacksonville beginning at 5:00 pm. A Rosary will immediately follow at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be

made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida In memory of Leo.
