Elizabeth Ann Busselle Davids, cherished wife and beloved mother, went home to Jesus April 6, 2016 at 7:00 AM. God sent the most beautiful sunrise to celebrate her arrival home. Ann is finally at rest, free from pain and rejoicing in the glory of our Lord and Father.
Her family had the honor of being with her to the last - sharing precious memories, singing some of her favorite hymns and affirming to her our commitment to keep our hearts in the Master's hand, trying to live each day as the Bible directs and sharing the message of God's grace and love.
Ann was born in Jacksonville, FL on February 28, 1933 to George Lee Busselle and Sara Regent (Gaskins) Busselle. A true southern belle, she found her soul mate, William Robert Davids - a yankee from New Jersey - while attending Robert E Lee High School. After graduation and a brief venture to the University of Florida, it was evident that she only had eyes for Bill' so she came home to Jacksonville and they were married on June 7, 1952.
An only child, she always said she would have several children - so she did. She and Bill had a hand full', 7 in all, the first two preceding her to heaven. In addition to her beloved Bill, she is survived by 4 daughters and 1 son, Lynne (Don) Stradley, Dawn Whitmore, Wayne (Lynn) Davids, Carol Davids, Sara Davids; 3 grand-sons, William Ryan (Deanna) Davids, Brett Taylor Stradley, Randall Robert (Alana) Davids; and 1 great-grandson, Weston Rodney Davids.
Ann was very involved in her church and in all her children's activities. She loved music, could never turn away a stray animal and enjoyed family history. She actively lived her faith and rarely missed an opportunity to share the love of Christ with others. She was proud to be a member of the Sophia Fleming chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was dedicated to preserving family history, often sharing stories of childhood memories and experiences on her grandparent's Georgia farm - many involving her cousins Lynne Gaskin (Douglas, GA), Mary Jean Mims (Fitzgerald, GA), Sue Wright Culpepper (Jacksonville), James Stewart (Waycross, GA) and Tom Gaskin (Albany, GA).
A celebration of Ann's home-going will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Crown Point Baptist Church 10153 Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville 32257 (904-262-9743).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the music ministry at the Crown Point Baptist Church, to the Jacksonville Humane Society (http://www.jaxhumane.org/how-to-help/donate/) or to the Friends of Clay County Animals (www.FriendsofClayCountyAnimals.org).
