Obituary

Elizabeth (Betty) Harris Ellis 95, died November 3rd, 2023 at home. She was born
September 19th, 1928 in Valdosta, GA. Her family moved to Jacksonville in her early teens.
Betty graduated from Andrew Jackson H.S. and then attended Florida State. She was preceded
in death by her husband T.M. Ellis, Jr., parents Heyward and Minnie Highsmith Harris, brothers
Heyward, Jr. and Garner Harris, and grandson Josh Covington.
Betty first attended Main Street Baptist Church where she taught youth Sunday School.
After moving to Arlington she joined Terry Parker Baptist where she continued to teach youth
and then adult Sunday school for many years.
Betty is survived by her daughter Brenda (Chris) Covington, Land O Lakes, FL.
Grandchildren Randy (Lynda) Thompson, Dawn Firster, Chad (Robyn) Thompson, Caleb
(Jenna) Covington. Great Grandchildren Alysha (Kaylee), Jessica (Jeff), Rachel, Charlie, Ella,
Ava and Bryn. Great-Great grandsons Bentley and Connor.
Many thanks to her granddaughters Dawn, Alysha and Kaylee, who put in many hours of
loving care. Also our thanks to Hospice of Florida and Concierge Care for all their help.
Service will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Wednesday, November
8th , 2023. Visitation will occur at 1 p.m. with the service to transpire at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
please provide contribution to the Dreams Come True organization in honor of Bentley Firster.
