Elizabeth Mae Jones Varner, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Fernandina Beach, Florida. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to William Baxter Jones and Florence Sarah Edwards on March 23, 1929.

Elizabeth married Ernest Wollitz in 1946 and they had two lovely daughters, Debra Elizabeth and Rebecca Ann (Donald). Her previous employers consisted of A&P bakery, King Edward Cigar Factory and the Duval County School Board. She married again after Earnest's death to Carl Varner in 1997. Elizabeth was a former Charter Member of Southside Estates Baptist Church and a current member of Holiday Hill Baptist Church. To Elizabeth family came first and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by loving husband, Ernest Wollitz; both parents; siblings, Iva Lee Green, Mary Lucille Pickett and Baxter Elmo Jones.

Elizabeth is survived by daughters Debra Elizabeth and Rebecca Ann (Donald); siblings, Sarah Novelynn Volkman, Shirley Ann Buss, Betty Joe Birlely, Bo and Paul; grandchildren, Christopher (Dee Jay), Jacob and great- grandchildren, Bryce, Sarah, Emma and Donny.

Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm Friday, January 3, 2020 in the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. A funeral service will start at 2pm, the same day with Pastor Daniel O. Davis, Jr. and Pastor Josh Slocum officiating. Entombment will follow in the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32211.
