Betty J. Manning Willis passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and community.
As a mother and grandmother, Betty was loving, devoted, and fiercely supportive. She is survived by her three daughters Shawn Schaefer, Carmel Vanheusen (Charlie), and Lea Willis, her three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and her brother, Bernard Manning. She was preceded in death by six of her siblings.
Throughout her life, Betty built a highly impressive career, holding respected positions with Florida Power & Light, the City of Jacksonville, and Flagler Hospital. She was also the Founder and President of DanceMania, where she touched the lives of countless children and families, and built a community that became like family to so many. The sound of dancers cheering “Ms. Betty is the best!” perfectly captured how truly loved and adored she was.

Her family finds comfort knowing that her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched and the memories shared by all who knew and loved her.
