Obituary of Ella Pleasants

Ella Mae Pleasants, 92, entered into rest on February 21, 2012. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Ella spent over 40 years working for the State of Florida Vital Statistics office having retired when she was 81. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her time adoring babies, animals, and swinging on the deck taking in the beauty of nature. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Otis M. Pleasants and her son in law, Harry L. Smith, Sr., three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Smith; grandsons, Thomas E. Pleasants and Randall Smith; sisters, Alma Matthews and Mary Bivins of Wallace, N.C., and Dorothy Rouse of Goldsboro, N.C.; numerous extended family and many treasured friends. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Arlington Park Funeral Home from 1:30-2:30pm, with her funeral to follow at 2:30pm.
