IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Enola
Osburn
November 18, 1920 – October 10, 2020
Mrs. Enola Fountain Osburn, age 99 of Jacksonville, Florida left this earthly world to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Mrs. Osburn was born November 18, 1920 in Berrien County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Arren and Lola Griffis Fountain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Osburn; her three sisters, Chlora Davis, Latrelle Kirkland, and Ferra Lee Davis; and one brother, Connie Fountain.
Enola's greatest loves were her faith and her family. She was the proud mother of three children: Mackie "Buddy" Summerlin (Louise), Tina Bell (Paul) and Rosemary Cowart (Bob). She was lovingly referred to as "Monty" by her four Grandchildren: Michael Bell (Christine), Paul S. Bell, Lisa Enola Gibbs (Mark) and Amy Crawford; six Great Grandchildren: Tanner Bell, Abbie Bell, Mackie Bell, Tyler Gibbs (Ashlynn), Sarah Gibbs and Cameron Crawford; one Great-Great Grandchild, Asher Gibbs.
Enola was one month short of 100 years old and the life she lived was certainly one of hard work, dedication to her family and love. While raising her family, she was the owner of two small market stores before landing a sales position at Underwood Jewelers where she proudly worked the rest of her career. She was the oldest member of East Point Baptist Church, where she enjoyed service every week and loved to spend time with the ladies in her Sunday school class. Her independent spirit kept her going strong and doing exactly what she wanted to well into her late eighties. During her later years she had two beloved dogs, Peaches and Bear, who she loved fiercely, and they were a great comfort to her. She loved beautiful flowers and always had a yard full of colorful azaleas. She felt that most everything could be fixed with a hot cup of tea and "a little laughter" and she would remind her family of that often. If you could count on one thing, it was that she was constantly worrying and thinking about her family and their wellbeing. Nothing made her happier than when one of her grandchildren called to keep her in the know about their lives.
She was beautiful, strong, nurturing, funny and always looked elegantly put together with her lipstick and earrings on. To say that she will be missed would be an understatement, but her passing is also a joyous occasion. Her family knows she went home to her Lord and Savior and she will forever be with us in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel (6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32211); with the funeral service to be held immediately after, at 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
