Eugene Earl Davis, age 83, son of Braxton and Mary Keller Davis was born, May 1, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away October 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

After 42 years with the US Postal Services, Gene retired as the manager from the Mayport Post Office. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball. During his early years, he played professional baseball in the minor leagues. Later on he continued his involvement in athletics as a coach, umpire, or referee throughout Jacksonville.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Braxton M. and Mary Keller Davis; his wife, Marjorie (Margie) Faye; his brother, Keller M. Davis; his daughter and son-in-law Diane M. and Pete Kirksey; and his grandson, Matthew P. Prince.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Anita L. and Rev. Raymon Prince; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn E. and Teresa Davis; and his son, Eugene E. Davis, Jr. He has two step daughters and spouse, Janice and Dan Perry and Debbie Simmons. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 12-1 PM, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32211.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 with Reverend Ray Prince officiating.
