Obituary of Everett Ross
ROSS
Everett Earl Ross, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 14, 2008. He is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a caring friend to all who knew him. Everett was born on September 20, 1917 in Gilmore, Florida. He graduated from Landon High School and I.C.S. with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the US Army in the medical corp. during world war two as a commissioned officer. He was employed as chief engineer and a member of the board of directors of Moore Dry Kiln Co. until his retirement in 1980. Throughout his life, he was a leader in his church and community. In addition, he enjoyed many interests especially gardening and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife, of 66 years, Emily (McDuffie) Ross, children Ginger, Todd (Lynn), Randy (Susan), and Mickey (Linda), ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and his brother J.C. Ross Jr.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, the 18th, at 6:30pm at Fort Caroline United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, the 19th, at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery.
