Obituary of F. Gregory Molloy
F. Gregory Molloy, 63, a longtime resident of Jacksonville passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Greg was born in New York City on September 7, 1946 and moved to Miami at age 7.
Greg's life was filled with his love of family, offshore fishing and his career at NEFBA Builders Care.
Greg was the primary caregiver to his dear mother Irene Gatewood. The care of his mother was first and foremost in his life. He is also survived by his sons John and Freddie Daniels, his granddaughters Ashley, Kayla & Lindsey Daniels of Jacksonville and his cousins Denise Kaufman, Bridget Berry, Katherine Sisson, Michael and Jeremy Berry all of Palm Beach County.
Gregs love of offshore fishing is legendary in Northeast Florida. Greg would unselfishly hand off a fish to a beginner and had a special gift for teaching youngsters the ins and outs of fishing. His dedication earned him a position on the board of the Jacksonville Offshore Sport Fishing Club (JOSFC). He gave unselfishly of his time and talents to the JOSFC from the start up of their website, the redesign of the newsletter, production of the Reef Guide, and many other graphic productions over the years.
When not on the water, Greg contributed his time and talents to NEFBA Builders Care, a faith based non profit construction organization as their photographer, webmaster and historian for many years. His concern for others was evident as he documented the many charitable projects and events.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the chapel of Arlington Memorial Funeral Home located at 6920 Lone Star Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32211. The family will receive friends after the service.
