Flavis Joe Barnard Jr. ("Joey" "Pops") went to his heavenly home on October 29, 2020. Joey was born on December 13, 1955 in Norfolk, VA., but grew up in Jacksonville and later moved to Green Cove Springs. He was a graduate of Terry Parker High School in 1973.

Following high school, he married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Dolores Osborne and have been happily married for 45 years.  Joey worked for Vanguard Industries in the area of military insignia sales for most of his adult life.

He was known mainly as "Pops" by his children, grandkids, and also his close friends. He earned this name because of the love he always showed everyone around him, making them feel like they were part of his family, he was their "Pops" too. Pops loved the outdoors and devoted his free time to his family enjoying it. They would spend quality time camping at Ocean Pond hunting, fishing or just enjoying their time together.

Flavis J. Barnard Jr. was predeceased by his parents Wilma Jean and Flavis J Barnard Sr.; sister, Patricia Keener; and brother, A.L. (Buddy) Barnard. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores Barnard; daughter, Kimberly Potter (Josh); son, Flavis J. Barnard III (J.T.); three grandsons, Dalton Barnard, Parker Stalvey, and Luke Barnard; sisters, Pam Farmer (Tommy), Melinda Hayes (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that held a huge place in his heart.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at Arlington Park Cemetery, with a celebration of Joey's life following at the family's home.
