Obituary of Floyd Soehlig

Floyd J. Soehlig Flip, 86, passed away February 10, 2008. He was born November 25, 1921 in Oran, Missouri. Flip learned to fly in World War II where he flew B-17s and B-24S and he was part of the Ploesti mission in 1943. His passion for flying continued after leaving the Air Force and he owned a few of his own private planes. He retired from S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. after 31 years of loyal service. Flip is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Soehlig and sons, Ronnie and Reggie Soehlig. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Davis (Sam); daughter-in-law, Paula Soehlig; grandsons, Ryan Soehlig (Mechelle), Tyler Davis, Chris Davis and Scott Soehlig; granddaughter, Keshia Davis; and his great grandchildren, Austin Terry, Taylor Jett and Nolan Soehlig. A graveside service will be held at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
