Obituary of Francis Gegan

Francis J. Gegan, 82, went to be with the Lord, Monday November 17, 2008. He was born in St. Louis, MO., but lived most of his adult life in Jacksonville, FL. He retired from George Washington Life Insurance Company as a vice president of sales, after retirement he found great pleasure delivering flowers for Kuhn's Florist.

Fran was a loving and sweetheart of a husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and a caring compassionate friend to all that knew him. He loved life, people, sports and the Mighty Fighting Irish. Fran will truly be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Gegan; siblings Thomas, John, Della, Joseph Gegan and Mary Fahy.

Fran is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Ruby Gegan; sons Larry (Shelly) Kirkland, Donnie (Diane) Gordon; daughter Belynda Greene and partner Jennifer Yates; grandchildren Mathew, Lexi Kirkland, Jimmy, Sarha Gordon and Beau White; nephews Joe (Joan) Sims, Buddy (Sharron) Sims; nieces Mary Kay (Pat) Flynn and Carol (Steve) Schuler and his loyal pet Snuggles.

Join the family for a visitation on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, and a funeral service on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hills Cemetery following the service.
