Obituary of Frank Anderson

Frank P. Anderson went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2007 after a short illness. He was a long-time resident of Cypress Village. A strong Christian, always dedicated to his family, Frank spent his life working diligently and serving others. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Margie E. Pritchett Anderson and his two sisters, Mary Agnes Lyle and Lucy Jordan. He is survived by his two daughters, Jan Anderson and Andrea Anderson Mathews; two grandchildren, Melissa Mathews McClarren and Mark Allen Mathews, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Bailey Mathews, Andrew McClarren and Luke McClarren; a niece Frances L. Keiper, and two nephews Rache Lyle, Jr. and Arhtur Lyle.

Born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on January 7, 1918, Frank attended Emory University and later came to work in Jacksonville. He served in the United States Navy as a naval intelligence office in Saipan during World War II. After military service, Frank gained a variety of business experiences and even owned his own business until he pursued a career in the insurance industry. He was a long-time agent with Prudential Insurance and finally became an agent for AFLAC, representing them for fifty years. He was dedicated to providing the best service for his clients, and instead of retiring, he continued to serve them.

Frank, a Baptist, served many years as a Sunday school teacher and deacon in Mayfair Baptist Church where he had been a charter member. Recently he became affiliated with Southside Baptist Church.

He was a warm and caring family man, ever patient and forgiving. He always had a smile and positive attitude. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He was our sunshine.
