Obituary

Frankie C. Messic, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2019. She was born September 26, 1930 in Lyons, Georgia and was the youngest daughter to the late John and Donnie Cawley. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School with the Class of 1948. She was a cheerleader and the September Calendar girl for the school year book.

Frankie was married to her high school sweetheart, George Messic Jr. for 57 years, before his passing on December 23, 2006.  She enjoyed life long friendships throughout the years with many of her and G.E.'s high school friends. Frankie always enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and special occasions meant the world to her.  She had a great passion for life itself and enjoyed going on vacations throughout the United States and Europe. One of her favorite places to visit was their home they built in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.

Frankie was a devout Christian and had a strong walk with the Lord.  She taught Sunday school for twenty years at Spring Park Baptist Church, and was loved by all. Later Frankie transferred her membership to University Blvd. Nazarene Church.

Frankie was preceded in death by her husband G.E. Messic, her parents John and Donnie Fay, her sister Dottie and grandson Alex.

She is survived by her children; George, Charles, and Holley(Larry), along with four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say Rejoice. Philippians 4:4".

Funeral Services will be held on March 1, 2019 at 2:00PM at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Reverend Steve Walker will officiate Frankie's service. Family will begin greeting guests at 1:00PM for visitation. Burial will be in Arlington Park Cemetery following the services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Honor of Frankie Messic to Community Hospice of Jacksonville, Florida.
