Fred graduated from Springfield High school and completed many classes while in the Navy. As planned, Fred joined the Navy July 1950 prior to being called to duty. He faithfully stayed in the Navy for over 22 plus years. He received many medals including the Navy Good Conduct Medal (6), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Service Medal. During his service he served in many locations; Patrol Squadron 26, NAS Patuxent River, MD; Staff Eleventh Naval District, San Diego, CA; Fleet Weather Facility, Sangley Point, P.I.; VT-1 NAS Saufley Field, Pensacola, FL; NAS Jacksonville FL ; JUSMAG Athens, Greece. More information about his navy career can be found at www.navymemorial.org
He made his home in Jacksonville FL in 1965 even though he continued to travel for the Navy. After he retired he went to work for Gates Rubber Company and worked for them for over 17 years. He started his own business supporting local business owners from Northeast Florida to Southeast Georgia selling hydraulics, belts and hoses for over 20 years. He loved to work and meet new customers that quickly became his friend. He worked until December of 2015.

We will miss his laugh and his jovial manner. He believed in working hard to be able to have the best out of life. He loved his Cadillac's and traveling to Greece throughout his years. While wearing his sunglasses he was always there to support his family. We admired his ability to come "save the day"! Good bye to our superhero. We love you and will always remember you as our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Help God as you helped us.
