Obituary of Gardner Bailey

Gardner Stanley Bailey, Jr., (Bud), a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 29, 2012, at the age of 84. He was born on August 7, 1928, in Salem, MA, and grew up in Marblehead, MA. Mr. Bailey served his country in the United States Navy, honorably retiring in 1973 after 21 years of service. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge #221 where he was a past Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Eunice Bailey. He is survived by his children, Joanne (Andy) Westhoff, Carole (Frank) Deen, Susan (John) Wilson, Gardner (Robin) Bailey, III, Gary (Lucy) Bailey; grandchildren Drew Westhoff, Matthew Westhoff, Michelle Westhoff, Melissa (Nick) Whitney, Jason Engle, Buck (Elizabeth) Wilson, Eric Wilson, Jessica Bailey, Bret (Tiffani) Bailey; great-grandchildren Luke Wilson and Cole Wilson, Paityn Engle, Brantley Bailey; sisters Bunnie Mistretta and Lynda Pomakis , and many nieces and nephews.
