Gene Franklin Canterbury, 81, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Marmet, West Virginia to Ben Elmer Canterbury and Lottie Florence Hawkins on March 21, 1937.

His main interest was serving the Lord and that the Lord came first in his life. He Loved his family, fishing, camping and playing the guitar.

Gene was preceded in death by His Father (Ben E. Canterbury) And His Mother (Lottie F. Canterbury) also 3 Sisters and 4 Brothers.

He is survived by; his loving wife Catherine (Cathy); two daughters, Donna Canterbury Conner (Ronald) from Jacksonville, Florida, Connie Canterbury Feliciano from Melrose, Florida; son, Thomas F. (Tommy) Canterbury (Kathy) from Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie White (Gerald) and Ms. Vonnie Morris both from Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Jimmy Canterbury (Linda) from North Carolina; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1 pm in the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211 with Reverend Daniel Hurlburt officiating.  Visitation to the public will start at 11am and continue until service time.  Internment at Arlington Park Cemetery will immediately follow.
