Obituary of Gene Lewis

Lewis, Gene Arlen, 83 of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2015 at home. Gene was born in Morven, GA on March 25th, 1932 to Troy and Phoebe Lewis. He graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in accounting. He retired after a life time career serving as an accounting manager with US Gypsum. Gene was an avid bridge player and enjoyed being with family.

Gene was preceded in death by his wives Nellie Lewis-Gaitan and Joan Gauthier Lewis and is survived by a son Glen Alan Lewis, and two daughters, Angele Leinbach(Josh) and Glynda Perry- Derryberry(Barth), seven grandchildren, Ray Powell(Meg), Mindy Waldron(Scott), Savannah Browning(Keith), Brooklyn Perry, Hannah, Jonah and Lilianna Leinbach, and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 at Parkwood Baptist Church, 7900 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville at 11:00am with Rev. Manny Keyser and Rev. Larry R. Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am.
