George Herman Fauss, Jr., 88, was born in Atlanta on November 15, 1932, and passed away on April 23, 2021. Herman married Carole Lee Cook on February 14, 1959, and moved to Jacksonville. Herman worked in the Transportation Industry for 50 years including his time at the Interstate Commerce Commission and LandStar. He loved his work and was loved by many in his industry. He was known for his joke telling and his ability to make people smile. He received many honors including having a scholarship named after him and several awards and acknowledgments from the Florida Trucking Association. He work carried over to a passion in trucks and trains. He was active in his church and served in many roles. Herman served in the Army's Transportation Corps on active duty and in Military Intelligence in the reserves.

Herman was preceded in death by Carole (January 7, 2021) and is survived by three sons and their families: David (Dr. Melissa Pigott) of Pompano Beach, FL; Dale (Lisa) of Keller, TX and 4 children Kyle (Meghan, and great-grandson, Jackson), Blake (Danielle), Lauren and Katelyn; and Stephen (Lauren) of Jacksonville, FL and 4 children Charlie, Aaron, Patrick and Benjamin.

A service for Herman will be held Saturday, May 22 at 10:30 AM EDT at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church at 4001 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville Florida 32207. This service will also be streamed live for those not able to attend in person at https://vimeo.com/542685433 or www.habchurch.com
