Obituary of George Gerhart

Mr. George R. Gerhart, Sr., 76, entered into rest on March 6, 2013. He is remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Korean Conflict. He has been a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He retired from FEC Railway after 24 dedicated years. He enjoyed riding his Harley and traveling. His most treasured pastime was spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his loves, Jackie Gerhart and Helen Hilla. He is survived by his children, Diane (Bob) Kuzirian, George R. Gerhart, Jr., Todd D. (Vickie)Gerhart, Arthur (Sybil) Gerhart and Tyrone (Lisa) Gerhart; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many faithful friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6-8pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org
