Obituary of George Hamilton
George Kendall Hamilton, Sr., born February 16, 1923 in Eureka, Pennsylvania, passed away February 29, 2008 in Jacksonville at the age of 85. He is remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and an honest man. George was a member of the Pablo Kiwanis Club, American Legion, Knights of Columbus (4th degree), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was also a graduate of the University of South Carolina Game Cocks and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Hamilton, Sr. and Edith A. Stover, and three brothers, Charles W. Hamilton, Jr., William H. Hamilton and John S. Hamilton, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Grace Hamilton, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage; their children, George Kendall Hamilton, Jr. and his wife Carol, Edith Anne Hamilton Martin and her husband Thomas, Sarah Louise Hamilton and Bernard L. Hamilton; grandchildren, Matthew Martin, Michael Hamilton, Rebecca Hamilton, Rachael Martin, Jennifer Irish and Maddlin Hamilton; and great-grandchildren, Brennan and Anna.
Services to celebrate Georges life will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 1:00p.m. in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 6-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
