Obituary of Georgia Stewart

Georgia Vernell (Nell) Stewart passed away peacefully with family at her side on April 4, 2013 at the age of 92. Nell was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul George Stewart, two brothers and one sister. She was born January 12, 1921 in Birmingham, AL. Graduated from Foley High School. She married and moved to Jacksonville where she had been a resident for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of Christ the King parish. Nell enjoyed sewing for her family, gardening in her yard and vacationing at the beach. She liked to travel, dance and write poetry. She owned "Second Glance Lingerie" for many years where she met and created many fond memories and friendships. She touched the hearts of everyone she met with her warm heart and caring nature. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter Paula (Larry) Stanton, son Kyle Stewart, grand-daughter Shawna Yates, great grand-daughter Haylee, sister Billie (Carey) Bentley, nephews Muray (Linda) Bentley, Larry (Caroline) Bentley and many other close friends and neighbors. They will miss her sweet smile and gentle nature. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 6pm-8pm at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Christ the King Church, 742 Arlington Rd.
