Gerald T'challa Edwards, born on October 2, 1951 in Chattanooga,TN, passed away in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday March 21, 2021. He was born to the union of James and Lottie Edwards, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John D and Milton C Edwards; and one sister, Mary L Smith.
Gerald attended Chattanooga City Schools and graduated from Riverside High School class of 1969. He was also a member of the Riverside Marching Band. He also served in the US Navy for a number of years.
He is survived by his devoted daughter and caregiver, Erica Thuy LaFaye (Teneshia); son, Gerald T'challa Edwards II; two brothers, Charles J (Joyce) and Ronald (Clara) Edwards; and one sister, Sherine (James) Bryant. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
