Obituary of Geraldine Elkins

Geraldine Tippins Elkins, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caring friend to all who knew her. Geraldine was born to the late Hubert (Hub) and Rhetta Tippins in Baxley, Georgia on January 16, 1922. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Julian H. Elkins of 35 wonderful years and her son Michael Elkins. Geraldine was a manger of the Vogue dress shop at Regency Square Mall for a number of years also volunteered as a room mother at Justina Road Elementary School and a long time member of Arlington United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons Harold (Roberta) Elkins and Stephen (Deborah) Elkins; grandchildren Kimberly, Scott, Rachel, Susanah, Maggy, Lacey; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington United Methodist Church, 1400 University Boulevard, for a funeral service on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
