Obituary of Geraldine Stehr

On January 1, Geraldine Stehr died from ovarian cancer. Born June 2, 1932, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, she married Dewaine Stehr for life in 1951. She and her beloved husband raised three children with unyielding devotion, the most important job in the world. A gentle spirit who lived in loving faith of Jesus Christ Our Lord, she sang for Him with the voice of an angel, and planted rose gardens that stilled the soul with beauty for those who were fortunate to gaze upon them.

Geraldine worked for Wisconsin Bell Phone for 20 years. She and Dewaine moved to Jacksonville in 1999. Dewaine predeceased her in 2010. She is survived and forever in the hearts of their three children James, Kathleen, and Jeanne; grandchildren Katelyn, Jesse and Dorian; and beloved sisters, LaVerne and Carol Jean.

A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 Eighth Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, on Friday, January 6, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Cancer Society, or visit www.cancer.org.
