Gladys Irene Seal, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 28th, 2019. She was 94. Gladys was born September 21st, 1925 in Hickory, North Carolina, the daughter of Alfred and Katie (Barger) Schill.

In her late teenage years Gladys got some Florida sand in her shoes and since then hasn't called anywhere else home. In fact, she has been a resident of Florida for 76 years. Gladys worked as an aide in various nursing homes in the area for 5 decades. Gladys loved the outdoors and had a special love of flowers, bird watching, collecting rocks, and the mountains. She also loved to travel, embroider and work in her garden. She was also a member of Woodland Acres Community Church and earned her wings on November 28th.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Janet Seal Vowells of Florida; sons, Herndon Seal Jr. of Florida and Jerry Wayne (Susan) Seal of North Carolina; grandchildren, Heidi Lynn Chrismon of North Carolina, Jessica Anne Marie Evans of North Carolina, Robert Michael Vowells, Jr of Virginia; great-grandchildren; Wyatt Chrismon, Ayden Chrismon, Tristan Dunn, Olivia Dunn, and Aria Dunn. Oceans of love and a kiss for each wave from all of us.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Herndon Seal and her sister Katherine Kiser.
