Glenn E. Harvey Sr. 86 passed away at Baptist Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. on April 2, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 17, 1930 in Somerset, PA to Robert and Nena Harvey.
Glenn was a Naval Korean War Veteran, and during this time he met & married his wife Catherine. They resided in Akron, Ohio, where he began his career with American Bakeries and also started his family of four children. In 1970 he & his family relocated to Jacksonville, Fla. for his work.
He enjoyed spending hours in his woodworking shop & leaves behind many beautiful examples of his talented work. And, he loved playing Bingo with his wife & friends.
Glenn loved his family & is survived by his wife of 67 years Catherine (Kay), his son's Glenn Jr. of Havelock, N.C., Lawrence W. of Barnwell, S.C., his daughter's & son-in-laws Deborah & Chip Mock of Jacksonville, Patty & Glenn Browning of Barnwell S. C. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his sister Dottie & Steve Labay and a brother Bill & Mary Harvey.
Viewing and services will be held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11665 Ft. Caroline Rd, Jacksonville, FL. 32225 on April 11, 2017. Viewing will be at 10:30; Fr. Anthony will perform Mass at 11:30. Immediately following Mass a reception will be held. Interment will be at The Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30, Lane 2.
