Obituary of Goldie Allmond
Goldie Mae Allmond, 81, looked up to Heaven with a smile on her face Monday, December 14, 2015, and joined hands with her husband Billy, who has patiently awaited his bride since 2008.
In addition to her loving husband Billy, she was preceded in death by her parents William and Virgie McCoy; brothers John McCoy, William F. McCoy, Jessie McCoy and Emmett C. McCoy; sisters Hazel Cooper, Pearl Lukens, Mildred Skeens, and an infant sister.
Goldie leaves many behind to celebrate her wonderful life and unequaled zest for life. They include children Jim Allmond (Ginna), Keith Allmond (Paulene), Susan Blyar and Theresa Ratliff (David); along with her grandchildren Philip (Tasha), Ashley, Kyle, Kristin, Torie (Preston), Danielle (James), Preston, Kathryn and Joshua (Amanda); great-grandchildren Ansley, Tucker, Lily, Layla, and Kayden; brother Samuel McCoy and sister Margaret Barker; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Goldie loved to dance and be among friends and family; she enjoyed helping others and getting her hands dirty in the garden; and she cheered on many football teams in the Ratliff cave' while entertaining Lily to her heart's content. Her spaghetti, macaroni salad and potato salad along with her signature lemon jello cake will be sorely missed at family gatherings. Goldie had a spunky feistiness that no other will ever be able to match, but our memories of her many antics will live on forever!
