Our feisty, fabulous, southern belle, Gwendolyn Sanders Culbreth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 3, 2013.

Gwen, who was born in Perry, FL, was an avid reader. She worked at the Florida Times Union as a proof-reader, and retired at the age of 75, after 40 years of dedicated service. Her southern drawl was a source of humor for all of us, and we lovingly imitated her at every possible chance. She loved high heels, fancy clothes, and southern food. She also loved her family in a fierce way and will be greatly missed.

Gwen is survived by her children; Jerry Culbreth, Don (Joanne) Culbreth, Candie McLanahan (Harold), Grandchildren; Shawn Culbreth, Chris Culbreth, Adrian Perkins (Todd), Carly Coffman (Kyle), Randi Green (Abby), T.J. Breedlove, Halie McLanahan, Jackson McLanahan, Great Grandchildren; Josh Culbreth, Hannah Adams, Erin Perkins, Brothers; Jack (Emogene) Sanders, Gene (Barbara) Sanders.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:30am in Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida.
