Obituary of Gwendolyn Murray

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Murphree Murray, 84, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and caring friend to all who knew her. Gwen was born in Birmingham, AL on January 16, 1927, to the late Alton and Myrtle Murphree. She is preceded in death by her loving husband William (Bill) H. Murray of 61 wonderful years and her sister Janet Hearne. Gwen was a member of the Peace Presbyterian Church and a member of the Jacksonville Orchid Society. She is survived by her daughter Linda Murray; grandchildren Kim Hardy and Paige (Chris) Vicary; brother Charles (Jean) Murphree and two nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and a funeral service on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00am. Interment will follow.
