Harriett Mette, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020. She was 95. Harriett was born on July 14, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida the daughter of William Howard and Pauline (Driggers) McKee.

Harriett's life was centered around her family. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and collecting antiques. She was a member of Oceanway Assembly of God, the Red Hat Society and enjoyed traveling. Harriett went on several Caribbean cruises and one Alaskan cruise. She taught kindergarten at Spurlin Schools and was loved by all her students.

Harriett is survived by her son Keith; two granddaughters, Shawna Ray and Liana Jackson; one great-grandson, Bryce Beecher and several nieces and nephews.

Harriett was preceded in death by her husband Emel S. Mette; her sons, Emel H. and Gregory R. Mette, and her grandson Bryan H. Mette.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday September 5th at the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida, 32211. A brief visitation will take place at Arlington Park Funeral Home from 10 to 10:30 am.  Pastor Ken Barney will officiate.
