Haskel Lamar Prevatt Jr., 87, was reunited with his beloved wife, Bobbie, on March 19, 2016 to begin their heavenly life together. Born November 2, 1928 in McAlpin, Florida, he was the son of the late Haskel Lamar Prevatt, Sr. and Willie Starling. He graduated from Suwanee High School and joined the Air Force. While stationed in Mississippi, he met his future wife, Bobbie House Prevatt and they were married in 1950.

They moved to Gainesville, Florida to complete his education at the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and became a CPA, residing in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a prestigious business man, after several opportunities including Haskins and Sells, Baker Brothers, Inc., and Amneck Supplies, he joined his brother, Wendell Prevatt, in the development of Prevatt Construction and Development Company in Orange Park, Florida, building numerous subdivisions and thousands of homes. Lamar was an honest man, who never deceived his homeowners, sub-contractors, family or friends.

Lamar's passions were his marriage to Bobbie for 65 years, his children and grandchildren, bowling, playing golf and the Florida Gators. Being an avid University of Florida fan, he attended games his entire life after graduating and once went thirty years without missing a single game, including home, away and bowl games. Lamar and Bobbie were presented the 50+ year ticket holders award in 2009 from the University of Florida. After retirement he spent many days shrimping off his dock in the early hours of the morning and kept many local friends supplied with fresh shrimp.

He is survived by his daughter, Jane Prevatt Turney (John), and son, Michael Lamar Prevatt (Amy). Granddaughters, Laura and Rachel Prevatt, step-grandchildren J.R. and Anthony Turney, step-great grandchildren, Joshua, Jackson, Candace, and Jillian Turney, his brother Wendell Prevatt and sister Wahletka Byren, along with many nieces and nephews. Lamar was predeceased by his wife, Bobbie Jean House Prevatt, November 30, 2015, and his brother Marvin Prevatt.
