Obituary of Helen Prosser
PROSSER, HELEN GRACE SMITH, departed the world as we know it on the 23rd of June, 2015 to rejoice
eternally with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She
was born July 28, 1919 in Wadley, Georgia. She was
preceded in death by her husband, John D. Prosser, and
her youngest daughter, Joan Gilliard. She is survived
by her daughter, Barbara Ring (Bennie), 8
grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great
great grandchildren.
She married and lived in Savannah, GA until settling
in Jacksonville, FL which she called home for the last 64
years. She retired from Swisher International where she
worked for 22 years as a bookkeeper. For the last 29
years she resided at Pablo Towers and enjoyed her life as
well as her earlier part time work there.
She loved to fish as well as eating what she caught. She
was an avid reader, which kept her mind sharp
throughout her lifetime. She loved spending time with
family and friends and always wanted to feed them as
she was a great cook. Fortunate are those who could
obtain a recipe with a measurement other than "a little
bit" or " a couple of cups or so" as she didn't have to
measure anything and it was always excellent.
She proclaimed in the last few weeks that "when the Lord
is ready, so am I". All that were ever in her presence are
the luckiest of all until it is time that we meet again.
