Obituary of Henry Anner
Henry Anner, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008. He was born on Merritt Island, Florida and lived in Jacksonville since 1929. He was an Eagle Scout, a 1936 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and attended The Citadel. He was a Navy Pilot and served as Lieutenant Commander. During World War II, he flew the P2V5f and was in Squadron 131. Later, he served in VP 741 and was called back to active duty in 1951. He was also retired from Civil Service. Henry was a member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, dancing and telling jokes. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and is survived by his son, Henry, Jr.; daughter, Susan Gornto (Douglas); granddaughter, Jennifer Gornto; grandson, Neil Gornto (Erin); grandson, Henry Anner III; and great-grandson, Neil Gornto, Jr. All reside in Jacksonville.
