Obituary

On October 4, 2026, the world became a little less sunny with the passing of Jacqualine "Jackie" Cannon, who was born on July 26, 1953. Jackie lived her life the way she liked it best—laughing often, loving deeply, and making sure everyone around her was having a good time.

Jackie was the beloved wife of her surviving spouse, Robert Wayne Cannon Sr., and the center of a family she loved beyond words. She was preceded in death by her son, John Cannon, and her brother, Michael Taylor.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory and miss her beyond measure: her daughters, Leslie Jennings (Steve) and Linda West (Carlton); her son, Robert Cannon Jr. (Carla); her grandchildren Ayre’ona Rose, Antwuan West, Jermain Rose II, Shea Jennings, Steve Jennings, Brayden Cannon, Robert Matthew Cannon, Eliza Cannon, and Truman Cannon; and her great-granddaughter, Ashlin Faith Thomas. She is also survived by her sisters, LaVonnne Brickell and Lorrie Stafford, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were brighter because of her.

Jackie was a longtime member and multi-year president of the Navy Wives Club, where she formed lasting friendships and devoted countless hours to supporting military families and her community. She was also an accomplished Realtor who took pride in helping families find places to call home, earning the trust and appreciation of clients throughout her career.

To know Jackie was to know fun. Whether she was soaking up the sun at the beach, spending time at the lake, cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars, or simply sharing laughs with family and friends, she had a way of making every moment memorable. She never met a stranger, loved gathering with the people she cared about, and believed life was meant to be lived with a smile. Her warmth, generosity, sense of humor, and love for life will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Jackie's life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Park Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida, with a reception to follow at the Cannon family home.

In honor of Jackie, family and friends are encouraged to share a laugh, enjoy a day in the sunshine, and hold their loved ones a little closer—just as she would have wanted.
